The Israeli cabinet on Wednesday approved a deal in which Hamas will release 50 women and children held as hostages in Gaza in exchange for a four-day pause in fighting, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. The deal will allow hundreds of humanitarian, medical and fuel aid trucks to enter all parts of the Gaza Strip, the statement added.
At least 14,128 people have been killed in Gaza since October 7. Hamas officials are "approaching a truce agreement" with Israel after weeks of war in the Gaza Strip, according to Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the Palestinian group that rules the besieged enclave. Join CGTN for the latest.
