For decades China has been sending medical teams to African countries including Tanzania under its foreign aid program. In this episode, our reporter spends a day with a Chinese surgeon from China's Jiangsu Province working at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital on the main island of Zanzibar. These doctors from China are the last line of medical defense for the locals. Patients in Zanzibar first consult local clinics. If the issue cannot be resolved, they go to district hospitals, or higher-up. When all else fails, they go to the Chinese team.
