Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, held a phone conversation with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan at the latter's request on Wednesday.
Noting the close and cooperative relationship with China, Balakrishnan said Singapore is willing to take new measures to facilitate personnel exchanges with China and further increase flights between the two countries.
Singapore is willing to work together with China to bring into full play the Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) and further deepen bilateral cooperation, Balakrishnan said.
For his part, Wang said that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders, China-Singapore relations have been elevated to an all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership, and cooperation in various fields has maintained a sound momentum.
China is willing to work with Singapore to provide more convenient conditions for the further resumption of personnel exchanges between the two sides and push the relations between the two countries to a higher level, Wang added.
He also encouraged the two sides to make good use of the China-Singapore bilateral cooperation mechanism to achieve more results.
