China on Thursday sent a new test satellite into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The satellite was launched aboard a Long March-2D carrier rocket at 6 p.m. (Beijing Time) and has entered the planned orbit. It will be used to test satellite internet technologies. The launch was the 498th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
