Israel says no hostages will be released before Friday following the agreement with Hamas, having agreed to a four-day pause in fighting. The Israeli government statement says "the release of every additional 10 hostages will result in one additional day in the pause." Li Guofu, a senior research fellow on Middle East issues at the China Institute of International Studies, says more releases of hostages are expected in the future.
