A fairy-tale scene of forests cloaked in soft crystallized rime was unveiled after the first snowfall of the winter arrived at the Potatso National Park. Located in Shangri-La County, southwest China's Yunnan Province, the national park is home to many wild animals such as wild boar, musk deer, leopard, pheasant and other species of birds, as well as many rare and treasured plants that thrive in the park's unspoiled ecological environment. As part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas, a world heritage site inscribed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the park opened to the public in 2007.
