A sudden fierce snowstorm fell on Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Tuesday. In this world of swirling snowflakes, the century-old Saint Sophia Cathedral presented itself like a fairytale castle in the night. The ancient structure of the cathedral, accentuated by the reflection of the ice and snow, appeared even more solemn and majestic.

A landmark of Harbin, Saint Sophia Cathedral is an Eastern Orthodox church built in the Byzantine style, where construction began in 1907. In 1997, the cathedral became the Harbin Architectural Art Gallery, showcasing the multicultural architecture development of the city throughout the centuries.
