Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Thursday met with a delegation led by Natsuo Yamaguchi, leader of Japan's ruling coalition party Komeito, in Beijing.
Noting that leaders of both countries recently held talks and had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Japan relations, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, called on the two sides to implement the important consensus reached by the two leaders and push bilateral relations back to the track of sound development.
The Komeito party has long been committed to Japan-China friendship, Yamaguchi said, pledging continuous efforts to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples and promote the development of bilateral relations under the guidance of the principles established by the Japan-China Treaty of Peace and Friendship.
