Israeli forces damaged the radiology department of Al Shifa Hospital during a military operation on November 16, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA). The Israeli military said it had discovered a tunnel shaft used by Hamas in the hospital, Gaza's largest. Israel recently returned the bodies of more than 100 Gazans held at the hospital, the release of which had been delayed while the Israeli army checked the bodies for Hamas members. The local Red Crescent and civil society organizations arranged funerals.
