A four-day truce between Israel and Hamas came into effect on Friday. Twenty-four hostages were released by Hamas and 39 Palestinian detainees walked free from Israeli jails after the truce deal took effect.

Under the deal, 200 trucks carrying aid are permitted to enter the Gaza Strip daily. Israel had imposed a total blockade since the outbreak of the war.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that on Friday, Gaza received the largest humanitarian convoy since October 7, with 137 trucks offloading goods.
