The second Global Digital Trade Expo has entered its third day in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou. As part of the event, delegates from China's Silk Road E-commerce partner countries and international organizations visited the city's leading e-commerce and digital technology companies, such as Alibaba and Hikvision. They told CGTN their views on China's digital future.
KENDRICK WHITE Vice Rector for Commercialization, Almaty Management University "This expo is fantastic. It really shows me that China is advancing very quickly and not only its production capacity, but distribution capacity, quality control, and really taking a leadership in digital technologies and e-commerce, which is bringing things directly to people's homes. I think that if China can help Central Asia, and the Belt and Road Initiative to raise up the populations to supply more value-added products in the supply chain, that will be good for China and be good for all of its partners."
ARNDT HUSAR Senior Public Management Specialist, Asian Development Bank "There's a lot of digital around us here, right? There are people who have in their mobile phone or mobile wallet, they will accept Alipay, they will accept Tencent pay, whatever other forms of payment. So digital is everywhere. Again, that's often a gap still in our member countries, the capabilities to actually work with digital technology. China is a member of the Asian Development Bank and a very active one, both in terms of contributing knowledge and knowledge sharing, but also, in fact, implementing projects with our financing. And those are usually really pushing the boundaries of innovation."
BATDORJ GANBAT CEO, Airee Felt "We're a very young startup biotech company from Ulaanbaatar Mongolia. This is actually my first time here in Hangzhou. Like I said, I was really impressed with the fast growth of digital e-commerce. I'm really looking forward to work with China."
