The Shenzhou-17 crew have conducted multiple medical experiments in the China Space Station, according to the China Manned Space Agency.
The three astronauts, Tang Hongbo, Tang Shengjie and Jiang Xinlin, cooperated in lower limb kinematics testing experiments to study the biomechanical characteristics of astronauts' movements in a weightless environment.
After completing an experiment in the running state, the crew performed another by using the resistance exercise device.
In addition, the astronauts have conducted research on visual function to explore the pathogenesis of spaceflight-related visual function damage and propose corresponding protective plans.
Aerospace medical experiments are designed to study and solve the major problems caused by medical and human-related factors and affect people's long-term stay in space. The experiments are conducted using unique platforms and models for researchers to study public health issues and deepen the understanding of human life phenomena and human ability characteristics.
The crew also conducted a payload exit mission. The experimental payloads automatically exited through the cargo airlock cabin of the Mengtian lab module, and relevant space exposure experiments were carried out.
China launched the Shenzhou-17 manned spaceship on October 26, and the three astronauts aboard will stay in orbit for about six months on the space station.
