Established in 2012, the International Frontier Cooperation Center is a living testimony to the achievements of China's Belt and Road Initiative. The center, which straddles the border between China and Kazakhstan, now receives millions of visitors each year from China, Russia and the Central Asian countries who come to shop and explore business opportunities. Ji Gang, from eastern China's Jiangsu Province, arrived at the center in 2015 with a business idea that has grown into fruition. He says the importance attached to the place by both countries have emboldened businessmen like himself to come invest and build.
