The construction of the 6.8-kilometer-long underwater tunnel section of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link was completed on November 28. It consists of 32 tubes, each weighing around 80,000 tonnes and connected by a final joint.

To ensure the correct deployment, the BeiDou Navigation System is used. The BeiDou satellite antennas on the installation ship match nearby reference stations and can achieve millimeter-level accuracy when installing the tubes.
