Chinese chipmaker Loongson Technology unveiled its domestically-developed new generation computer CPU – Loongson 3A6000 in Beijing on Tuesday.
The Loongson 3A6000, as China's latest version of general-purpose processor, adopted China's own architecture and homegrown design. It can run applications on different platforms for complex tasks.
The chipset suggests that China's capabilities in developing its own technologies is on par with the world's mainstream chipmakers.

The company also launched a printer main control chip, the Loongson 2P0500, the first of its kind based on an independent command system. As a core component of a printer, the Loongson 2P0500 is expected to be used for more Chinese printer makers.
Loongson Technology is one of the few Chinese chipmakers that has developed its own processor architecture, rather than relying on licensed designs from Arm or MIPS.
