Snowstorm kills eight in Ukraine and Moldova, hundreds of towns lose power supply

A snowstorm lashing central and southern Ukraine has killed at least five people in Ukraine and three in neighboring Moldova. Twenty-nine people were injured. Hundreds of towns and villages have lost power supply due to snow and high winds. Highways were also shut down.

Local meteorological authorities said the severe weather is likely to continue, with snow and rain bashing Ukraine on Tuesday.
