Harbin, the "City of Ice and Snow" in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province has experienced continuous heavy snow since the start of November. In this dreamlike frozen landscape, the city's unique charms as a cultural and tourism destination are on full display.

Established in 1999, the dazzling showcase of the Harbin Ice and Snow World serves as a business card for the city, drawing visitors from across the country, and beyond, every winter. This year, in an effort to welcome tourists as early as possible, 10,000 cubic meters of stored ice has been used to facilitate the early construction of the attractions at Harbin Ice and Snow World. This natural ice has been carefully stored for an entire year.

Beyond serving as a showcase for ice and snow art, Ice and Snow World also offers an all-round integrated destination for tourism, leisure and entertainment. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the picturesque northern scenery and experience the magical beauty of ice and snow.

This year, Harbin Ice and Snow World aims to offer a world-class ice and snow-themed amusement park. Three venues – an ice and snow amusement hall, a food court, and a show stage – will be put into operation. Visitors will not only be able soak up the winter atmosphere but also taste over a hundred kinds of cuisine from dozens of dining brands. They can experience popular attractions like the Super Ice Slide, survey the city from the top of the Ferris wheel, and enjoy a modern technological visual feast that combines ice and snow with light through top-notch international ice and snow performances.

According to the organizers at a press conference held on Tuesday, this year’s edition of Harbin Ice and Snow World is set to be the biggest in its history. One of the most popular attractions, the Super Ice Slide, will increase in size from 8 to 14 tracks. The stage will feature crystal-clear ice sculptures, snow sculptures, dazzling lighting effects, and thrilling ice ballets to create a vibrant visual spectacle, alongside a diverse array of winter sports.

With construction well underway at the Harbin Ice and Snow World, the organizers are actively preparing for the upcoming season, with the aim of unveiling a magnificent "Ice and Snow Kingdom" for the world to enjoy from early to mid-December.
