At least one person was killed after a U.S. military Osprey aircraft crashed off Japan's southwestern island of Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture on Wednesday, local media reported, citing Kazuo Ogawa, a spokesperson from the Japan Coast Guard.
There were six people on board, the spokesperson said, adding that no further information was available on the other individuals on board or the reason behind the crash.
