Three civilians were killed and 13 others wounded in a shooting at the entrance to Jerusalem on Thursday morning, Israeli police said.

Police said the victims suffered various injuries, with three medically evacuated in serious condition.

The shooting happened when two people, carrying an M16 and a handgun, arrived at the Givat Shaul junction near the entrance to Jerusalem on Thursday morning and began firing at civilians at a nearby bus stop.

Israeli police said the two suspected attackers "were neutralized on the spot" by two off-duty security forces and a nearby civilian.

The Jerusalem Post said the two attackers, identified as Murad and Ebrahim Nemer, were affiliated with Hamas. However, there's been no immediate comment from Hamas on the shooting yet.
