Ancient weapon storehouse ruins discovered along China's Great Wall

01:31

The site of the 10-square-meter ruins was first discovered in early June, when archaeologists carried out fieldwork along the western section of the Badaling Great Wall. Archaeologists also uncovered 59 hollow stones in the southwest and northwest corners of the site, which were believed to be containers for gunpowder that acted as weapons known as "stone grenades" for guards of the Great Wall during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
