Anyang, a city in Henan Province, is a historical city with cultural roots. The Yin Ruins, a world cultural heritage site, is located there. Anyang is also the place where oracle bone inscriptions were unearthed, making it one of the centers of early Chinese civilization. The Anyang Hongqiqu Airport officially opened to the public on Wednesday. The airport was mainly constructed by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau. The airport, in the junction area of the cities Anyang, Puyang and Hebi inside the province, will service the air transportation demands of a population of nearly 11.6 million. The first flight from Anyang Hongqiqu Airport was the Guangzhou-Anyang route operated by China Southern Airlines. In the future, Anyang will gradually open flights to other cities. The airport is expected to accelerate the development of Anyang into a regional transportation and logistics center, integrating aviation, railways and highways. It will also help the development of the city's culture and tourism industries.
