Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a message of condolences to President Biden over the death of Henry Kissinger. Xi also conveyed condolences to Kissinger's family. The former U.S. secretary of state died at his home in Connecticut at the age of 100. The consulting firm Kissinger Associates announced his death on Wednesday.
Kissinger was a scholar, statesman and diplomat who played a powerful role in U.S. foreign policy throughout the administrations of Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Kissinger played a pivotal role in helping open up diplomatic relations between China and the U.S.
