Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday spoke highly of the profound relationship between China and Vietnam, describing it as "comradely and brotherly."
China and Vietnam share the same aspiration and destiny, which is the most distinctive feature of bilateral relations, Wang said during a meeting with Le Hoai Trung, a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and head of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for External Relations.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the top leaders of the two parties have established solid mutual trust and profound comradeship, providing important political guidance for the steady development of relations between the two countries.
China regards relations with Vietnam as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and is willing to work with Vietnam to implement high-level consensus, make thoughtful preparations for the important political agenda in the next stage, and jointly promote the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, said Wang.
On his part, Trung said Vietnam looks forward to intensifying high-level exchanges between the two sides, pushing bilateral relations into a new stage with deeper, stronger, more comprehensive and effective development, and laying a more solid foundation for the future of Vietnam-China relations.
