M5.0 earthquake hits China's Yunnan, no casualties reported

No casualties have been reported following a magnitude-5.0 earthquake in Mangshi City of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Saturday, according to local authorities.

An emergency response operation is underway and 1,927 people have been evacuated as houses and electrical facilities were affected by the quake. A total of 144 households in Xishan Township reported house damage, according to a preliminary investigation carried out by the city's earthquake relief headquarters.

Three aftershocks of magnitude-3.0 or above were also recorded on Saturday in Mangshi City.
