Neil Bush, the founder and Chair of the George H. W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations, and the son of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush, is currently attending the 2023 Understanding China Conference in Guangzhou. CGTN reporter Cao Chufeng caught up with him to discuss the current state of China-U.S. ties. Bush said he is optimistic about the future of the relationship after the presidents of the two countries met, and that he hopes the winner of the U.S. presidential election in 2024 will help to move the relationship forward. He added there are many obvious areas where the two countries can cooperate.
