The construction of China's first national offshore wind power research and test base started in southeast China's Fuqing City on December 1. The base, scheduled to be operational in 2024, consists of a land testing center and a wind farm. Upon completion, the base will be able to test and inspect wind turbines with the largest capacity and the longest blade in the world. It will also be capable of supporting cutting-edge research, such as empirical studies on large capacity offshore wind turbines, the State Grid said.
