In 2015, China issued a 10-year plan to build the Nanfan Scientific and Research Breeding Base in Hainan Province. The base has since made a remarkable contribution to the country's agriculture development, with more than 70% of new crop varieties in the country cultivated there. CGTN's Lily Lyu visited one of the center's cultivation areas to see how seeds are planted for sustainable future food systems.
