People in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) are expected to become the first of those living outside the Chinese mainland to witness the performance of the country's self-developed C919 jetliner.
John Lee Ka-chiu, chief executive of China's HKSAR, made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday.
"Developing these two types of aircraft is an important milestone for the country's aerospace manufacturing industry," Lee said.
The C919 will be displayed with the ARJ21 regional jetliner for the first time in Hong Kong from December 12 to 17. It will also fly over the city's Victoria Harbour on December 16.
Representatives of the HKSAR will also be invited to enter the planes and check out the interior design.
The first C919 aircraft made its inaugural commercial flight between east China's Shanghai Municipality and the capital city Beijing on May 28, and two such aircraft have entered regular service between Shanghai and Chengdu City in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
