The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command monitored, tracked and maintained alert on the P-8A Poseidon, the U.S. Navy's maritime patrol aircraft, as it transited through the Taiwan Straits on Wednesday, said Shi Yi, spokesperson for the PLA Eastern Theater Command.
The PLA Eastern Theater Command is on high vigilance all the time and will resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, Shi said.
