Expert calls for dialogue as EU mulls tariffs on EV imports from China

The European Commission is investigating whether to impose punitive tariffs to protect European Union producers against cheaper Chinese electric vehicle imports that it says are benefiting from state subsidies. Rong Ying, vice president of the China Institute of International Studies, says such punitive tariffs will undermine the momentum of China-EU trade. He calls on the two sides to work together and resolve differences via dialogue and cooperation.
