After the gale, the mountain fringe at 800 meters is warmed up by the autumn sun. In Maoming City, south China's Guangdong Province, the mild and moist clime provides Madhuca pasquieri satisfying conditions. This species on the roadside stands elegantly with serpentine branches. Centuries of vicissitudes haven't undermined its distinctive charm. It resembles a hale and hearty elder.
About 'Journeys in Nature: Guangdong Maoming Series'
Maoming City is a biodiversity hub in south China's Guangdong Province. Leaning against the Yunkai Mountains, one of the largest mountain ranges in Guangdong, and facing the South China Sea, the city is endowed with a wet tropical climate, which has attracted numerous wild animal and plant species.
