Urumqi Glacier No.1, located about 130 km from Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is the closest glacier to an urban area on earth. For more than 60 years, Chinese scientists have been monitoring its condition. However, research has shown that without effective protection, the glacier could disappear in 50 years' time due to global warming. Now Chinese researcher Wang Feiteng and his team are racing against time to save the glacier. What's their approach? Can they succeed?
