Liu Dewen, a village chief in Taiwan, has, for 20-plus years, dedicated himself to helping to return the ashes of veterans buried in Taiwan home to the Chinese mainland. Locating the veterans' ashes is not an easy task. If there were no ashes in the veterans' columbarium, Liu would visit temples to search for them. If the temples didn't have them, he would have to search burial grounds overgrown with weeds and full of unknown dangers. Injuries were inevitable, but they couldn't stop him.
