The award ceremony for the first Global Youth Bilingual Broadcast Announcing and Anchoring Contest was held on Saturday in Beijing.

Hosted by the Communication University of China (CUC), the event was attended by guest presenters including CUC President Zhang Shuting, Cuban Ambassador to China Alberto Blanco Silva, Xue Lisheng, deputy editor-in-chief from China.org.cn, and others.

It was also joined by representatives from various universities such as Chung-Ang University, Nanjing University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Kabul University, as well as from over a dozen media organizations.

The contest, which aimed to discover and nurture outstanding bilingual hosts and anchors globally, sought to enhance understanding and mutual trust, as well as promote mutual learning and cultural exchange among different civilizations.

Since the official call for submissions was launched globally on July 25, the competition attracted 686 participants over the following three months. These contestants hailed from 133 universities, primary and secondary schools, and educational institutions worldwide, representing 36 countries and regions. Their entries spanned 28 languages, including English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and others.

After multiple rounds of evaluation, 95 contestants stood out, including three gold prize winners, six silver prize winners and 10 bronze prize winners. Additionally, 13 organizations received an outstanding organization award.
