Chinese envoy: More funds needed for environmentally fragile nations

01:00

As many developing countries are direct victims of climate change, the world should pay more attention to gathering enough sources of funding to help them, according to China's special envoy for climate change, Xie Zhenhua.

On Friday, a side event of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, South-South Cooperation High-level Seminar in Addressing Climate Challenges, was held at the China Pavilion.

At a break in the seminar, Xie emphasized the importance of global cooperation in establishing an early warning system on climatic disasters when he talked with Cyrille Honore, deputy director of the Services Department of the World Meteorological Organization.
