Climate change has intensified extreme weather events and natural disasters like floods, drought and wildfires around the world. In Greenland, while the residents experience more frequent storms and thinner sea ice, some of them are also benefiting from fishing industry and tourism. 

However, such a phenomenon is not "unique to Greenland" and "in every country and society is that there are some people or sectors that are less negatively impacted by climate change than others," said William Colgan, a research climatologist at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland.

"At the global scale, there are clearly more losers than winners from climate change," Colgan told CGTN.

He also stressed that the biggest challenge now is to bring everybody into the same global framework, like the Paris Agreement.
