On March 21, 2013, then U.S. President Barack Obama spoke to Israeli students at the Jerusalem international Convention Center. During his address, Obama emphasized that "the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and right to justice must also be recognized." He called for the efforts to look at the world through the Palestinians' eyes. "Neither occupation nor expulsion is the answer. Just as Israelis built a state in their homeland, Palestinians have a right to be a free people in their own land."
