Zhang Jun, Chinese permanent representative to the United Nations, and other ambassadors of Security Council member states on Monday visited the Rafah crossing border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

During his visit, Zhang said that China has been providing humanitarian aid to Palestine, and will continue to promote the UN Security Council to play a responsible role in expanded humanitarian access to the Palestinian people and an end to the fight.

Zhang also held discussions with heads of United Nations agencies and visited ports, humanitarian material warehouses, hospitals and desalination water plants.
