In the face of divided opinions on the rise of China, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed stressed that China's rise cannot be stopped because China is a big market with skills and capacity. "The world cannot always be dominated by Europeans ... and to go against China is not something that Southeast Asian countries would like to do, because we find China is useful in many ways," Mahatir pointed out.
