The ferocious snow seems to blur everything in the Greater Hinggan Mountains. A sapling stretches out from the crevices and takes roots deeply underground to fight against the snowstorm. This inconspicuous sapling, commonly called the Amur cork tree, has quite a reputation. As one of the most precious broad-leaf trees in China, it is hailed by some as "king of trees." It has gotten used to loneliness and adapted to its surroundings.
