Located in Southeast Asia, Vietnam covers an area of about 330,000 square kilometers, with Hanoi as its capital. China and Vietnam are important economic and trade partners due to their geographical proximity and industrial complementarity.

At the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong,  Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, is paying a state visit to Vietnam on December 12 and 13.
