December 13 marks the 10th national memorial day and the 86th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre, which took place in 1937. China's national flag flew at half-mast during a flag-raising ceremony held in East China's Nanjing City on Wednesday. At 10:00 a.m., a national memorial ceremony for Nanjing Massacre victims was conducted at the Memorial Hall of the Victims in the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders. All attendees from various walks of life paid silent tribute during a minute-long air raid siren. Trains, ships and cars in the city also sounded their horns. Afterward, eight wreaths were laid in front of a wall.
