Ghassan Abu Sitta, a British-Palestinian surgeon who spent weeks in the Gaza Strip during the current conflict, said that "there was never, ever any military presence" in the Al-Shifa Hospital before it was stormed by the Israeli army, which claimed it was being used by Hamas. The surgeon also said he took part in an investigation by the war crimes unit of the Metropolitan Police.
