Young Jordanian Mohanad Shalabi arrived in the city of Yiwu in Zhejiang Province in 2002, with a dream of setting up in business. After doing a series of odd jobs, he opened a restaurant, which quickly became very popular. In June 2014, at the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, President Xi Jinping shared Mohanad's story, saying he embodied the perfect combination of the Chinese Dream and Arab Dream. Mohanad describes being praised by the Chinese president as "incredible". He also says that it's thanks to Xi Jinping that he has been able to realize his entrepreneurial dream.
