Due to a sweeping cold wave, heavy snow blanketed many parts of northern China from Wednesday to Thursday, leading to power outages, icy roads and the closure of some expressways and airports.
The temperatures in most parts of the country are forecast to drop by 8 to 12 degrees Celsius from Thursday to Sunday, with some regions set to experience a sharp decline of over 20 degrees Celsius, according to the National Meteorological Center.
