Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, paid a state visit to Vietnam on December 12 and 13. Over the two-day visit, the two sides discussed upgrading China-Vietnam relations and working toward deepening and substantiating the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries.
On December 11, CGTN Stringer visited Hanoi University in Vietnam and engaged with students about their expectations for the Chinese leader's visit and their hopes for future cooperation between the two countries. One student said President Xi is a good leader who can improve the living standards of the Chinese people while making China more prosperous. Another student highlighted the significance of this visit, considering it an extremely important event that holds great meaning for the relationship between the two countries.
