CMG's release ceremony on the 2024 TV series list in Beijing, December 15, 2023. /CMG
38 excellent TV series produced by China Media Group (CMG) are slated to be released in 2024, CMG announced on Friday at a release ceremony in Beijing.
Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, and Zhu Yonglei, vice minister of the National Radio and Television Administration, attended the ceremony and released the list with other guests.
The first chapter includes four realistic-themed dramas, among them, "City of the City," directed by Teng Huatao, combines the career choices and vicissitudes of two generations of financial professionals with the development process of Shanghai as an international financial center, the drama shapes the image of a young generation dedicated to upholding professional ethics.
The next chapter brings eight outstanding works rooted in contemporary social reality, among them, there are heartwarming stories told from a female perspective, such as "Her Islands," "Our Days," and "Born to Run."
The third chapter includes six adaptations from classic literary works, consisting of the adaptation of China's leading sci-fi writer Liu Cixin's novel of the same name, "Ball Lightning."
Eight series in the fourth chapter showcase the history and cultural themes of the splendid Chinese civilization based on historical backgrounds and represent a vivid practice of creatively transforming and innovating China's excellent traditional culture.
And finally, another twelve high-quality productions revolving around modern revolutions, espionage, military, and public security themes will meet audiences next year.
