The city of Laibin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is well known for its sugar production. Home to many high-quality sugarcane plantations, Guangxi plays a big role in China’s sugar industry.
Two-thirds of the sugar produced in China comes from this region, which is now inhabited by several ethnic groups, including the Zhuang, Han, Yao, and Miao peoples.
