Located in the southwest of Daxinganling, the White Wolf Township in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region borders Mongolia. It was established in the early 1950s for the purpose of commercial logging. In the 2000s, the logging was stopped to protect the forests, and White Wolf Town faced a crisis with sharp population decline from thousands to only three hundred. The local Forestry Bureau advocated tourism with the slogan "Drop your axe to be a tour guide", and created the country's only brand of forest folk culture integrated with animal resources and the tradition of handicrafts, which is ensured to provide a stable income for local residents. In 2023, the population of White Wolf Town tripled compared to the historical low point. The case is presented to you by WTA practices of Rural Revitalization through tourism.
