- A total of 127 people were confirmed dead following the magnitude-6.2 earthquake that jolted Jishishan County late Monday evening, including 113 in Gansu Province and 14 in neighboring Qinghai Province, authorities said on Tuesday.

- Rescuers are racing against the clock to reach survivors as the temperature dropped to roughly minus 2 degrees Celsius as of 8 p.m.

- Telecommunications service and power have been fully restored in Gansu and Qinghai as of Tuesday night.
